What are CPD points?

Continuing Professional Development points are crucial to a personal trainer or a fitness instructor, not only are they necessary in order to top up your qualifications, but they also have a wide range of benefits.

In order to remain on The Register of Exercise Professionals, you are required to gain 24 CPD points every 2 years. These can be obtained through a range of methods, but fitness courses are one of the most popular.

Benefits of gaining more CPD points

Gaining more ‘top-up’ qualifications means that you have a varied and extensive repertoire. Not only does this make you more knowledgeable, but it also opens up more employ-ability opportunities. By gaining extra CPD points, you are showing your commitment to the fitness industry.  A range of skills such as an Exercise to Music qualification or a Kettlebell Instructor qualification means that you are a more desirable to employers, and would put you ahead of the game in interviews at gyms or fitness centres.
